Vaudeville Players More Working Progress

The Vaudeville Players are almost ready to take a bow, put their lives back in a suitcase and skip away to pastures new.

I'm so in love with their flashy outfits, cheeky manner and cheerful demeanour. It almost seems a shame to split them up! Alas I'm sure wherever they go they will spark peoples imagination.

The Vaudeville Players
Made from new and vintage fabrics, merino wool lightly felted and then sewn onto the head, paper mache props, sequins, pom poms, a lot of time and a lot of love.
Each doll is larger than my regular dolls (as you can see from the last photo) Their bodies are slightly fuller - with built in hips to give them extra shape. They don't stand independently, as their legs bend, but I have sewn a ribbon onto their backs, so you can hang them from the wall. Each quirky character has a prop made from paper mache, which I have moulded and fashioned myself, painted and finished with a coat of varnish. Each doll will have a tag with a little printed illustration and hopefully a description of her character. Hope you like them?

Golden curls, a sequinned cap, ruffled collar, pom poms, ribbons and yellow tights!

    1. Thankyou so much, yes indeed they were a bit of a labour of love but so worth it. The props were the most difficult, as paper mache is fairly new to me - I totally enjoyed the whole process. x

  2. Oh crikey - how to choose between them all!?! They are superb Sarah. Love all of the extra special touches on feet, hair & props too.

    1. Thankyou so much. Trying my hardest to get them finished and listed this week. x
